At the General Court Baron with the Leet held for the said mannor upon Friday the Sixth day of November in the twenty first year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the second by the grace of God Of great Britain France & Ireland King Defender of the Faith and so forth And in the year of our Lord One thousand seven hundred and forty seven

with the Rectory

Salthouse Witchingham

and

Hempstead Netherhall

In Kelling

 

Amongst other things It is inrolled

On the part of Kelling Ilkethsalls (sic)

 

 

   

Whereas at a General Court held for this Mannor the twenty fourth day of October one thousand seven hundred and forty five It was found by the Homage of that Court that Thomasine Lewis died before that Court Seized of and in Certain Lands and Tenements holden of this Mannor by Copy of Court roll And because nobody came to take the same out of the hands of the Lord of this Mannor Therefore the first proclamation was made Now to this Court comes John Jarvis in his proper person and brings into Court a Copy of the last will and Testament of the said Thomasine Lewis dated the twenty ninth day of August one thousand seven hundred and Forty five The Tenor of which Will follows in these words The last Will and Testament of Thomasine Lewis I give and devise all my Messuages Lands Tenements and Hereditaments in Salthouse and Kelling in the County of Norfolk which were late of my Father John Tuck deceased unto John Jarvis and Martha his Wife my Daughter for & during the term of their natural Lives and the Life of the longer Liver of them And from and after their Deceases Then unto the Heirs of my said Daughter for ever as by the said Will may appear Upon which the said John Jarvis in his proper person & as attorney for the said Martha his wife desires the favour of the Lord of this Mannor to be admitted Tenants to the said premises according to the Tenor and Effect of the said Last Will of the said Thomasine Lewis (that is to Say) To Three roods of Land bond lying in Salthouse parcel of one acre and three Roods of Land in three pieces in Salthouse and Kelling Which premises the said Thomasine Lewis had and took up to her and her heirs as Daughter and Heiress of John Tuck as at a Court held for this Mannor on the thirty first day of October One thousand Seven hundred and twenty three appears To whom the said John Jarvis & Martha his Wife by her said attorney the Lord of this Mannor doth deliver Seizin of the premises aforesaid by the Rod To Hold to them the said John Jarvis & Martha his Wife and her Heirs at the Will of the Lord according to the Custom of this Mannor by the ancient and accustomed Rents and Services therefore due and of right accustomed And the said John Jarvis and Martha his wife are thereunto admitted Tenants Saving every one Else his Right and they gave to the Lord a Fine And Fealty is respited.
