Here
we are half
way down Cross Street
quite a few years ago. The building on the extreme left, is the Manor Farm
House, where Ernest High brought up his seven children: Clifford (who
went to Canada as a young man, and fought in the Canadian Army in the
1st World War; Havelock; Haddon; Miriam; Gertrude
and Kathleen (who died aged 14)
see the children of Ernest Porter High.
Nearest the road on the left is the cottage where Henry High, the brother of Ernest, lived with his family until his daughter Ethel inherited the Manor house from her Aunt Johnson, and they moved in there.
