Commander Frank Stagg who made these transcriptions in the 1930s (before these early records were destroyed by being buried in the churchyard)
noted that"One result of Blomefield’s visit, 2 centuries later, seems to have been that the Registers of both Salthouse and Kelling were sent away for rebinding. That of Kelling still keeps its 1748 binding and is in a good state of repair, but that of Salthouse has disappeared, and with the cover has gone the first folio of Christenings and apparently the 2 earliest folios of Burials."
